Applied Anatomy for Hips & Low Back with Kat Boehm

Many of us can refine our movement skills with our low back or hips. This workshop will be an exploratory journey to understand the mechanics of this profound area. Drawing on principles from both Pilates and Therapeutic Yoga, we will learn how to strengthen or release muscles that may be the root cause of limited range motion, or its opposite, a very flexible hip joint.

In learning to recognize the relationship between the hips and the low back can improve comfort and mobility. You will gain familiarity in your own body that will improve not only your Yoga poses, but also how you walk, stand and bend.

Chakra Bracelet and Yoga Workshop with Amanda Little

Yoga to Relieve Sciatica with Kyra Kubrak

Sciatica can be a major pain in the back! Nearly 70% of sciatic pain is caused by a tight piriformis - a small, deep hip muscle. The sciatic nerve is sandwiched between the piriformis and pelvic tendons and when the piriformis is tight, it pushes on the sciatic nerve which can cause excruciating pain. In this special class, you will learn different yoga poses that can help to soften the piriformis muscle and ease the pressure on the sciatic nerve. Participants will receive a handout with a sequence of poses for sciatic relief.
