Restorative Yoga for Asthma Relief with Kyra

Friday September 8     7:00 - 9:00pm     $30 + GST

Restorative yoga can be very beneficial to those of us who suffer from asthma. This special class focuses on relaxed and supported postures that help in opening up the rib cage while softening the shoulders and back. Through breathing exercises, we will build on the power of our exhale, which has been proven useful to helping asthmatics gain control over their breath.

While this class is designed for those with asthma, this class is open to anyone who wants to learn more about their breath and postures to help relax the body. Open to all levels - no previous yoga experience is required.

Yin Yoga for Transitioning from Summer to Fall with Kyra

Saturday, September 23     12:30 - 2:30pm    $30 + GST

Moving from the activity of summer to the coolness of fall can be a challenge. As the leaves begin to change colour and fall to the ground, nature moves to shed what is no longer needed. This cycle is also mirrored in our own lives. Early fall is associated to the Earth element - where we return to become grounded and to enjoy the harvest of summer’s bounty. From here we move into fall itself. This season is associated with the Lungs and the Metal element - when our lung energy is in balance it helps us to tie up the loose ends from the year. We are also able release things we don't need to carry into the coming new year.

In this workshop we will focus on the Spleen and Stomach meridians to help us feel balanced, stable and happy. Working with the Lung, and Large Intestine meridians will support our ability to let go of those things we don’t need from our body, mind, and spirit.
