Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha. The Ganesha mantra, it is one of my favorites. He is considered the remover of obstacles, but the sneaky fellow can also place the obstacles. My greatest lesson from yoga has been finding my own path (though it is pretty bumpy at times) and not to blindly follow the trail of others before me. It also means trying not to revisit the same comfortable paths over and over, being brave enough to try the new or difficult. This last one is where I struggle the most.

That has been my greatest lesson in yoga for me, recognizing the paths or ruts we get stuck in and having the awareness to shift to something different. It started off being physical for me, gotta stretch, but now it is about the sanity, calm and awareness it brings to my life, something I need with two young children. If we can give in to the lessons yoga gives us, let it happen, low and behold new and old worlds open up for us to discover.

I've had the chance to study with respected teachers from around the world and for that I continue to give thanks. Teaching provides me with a different way of learning, a different perspective that I strive to share with others.

I welcome the opportunity to continue to grow and share my own journey (many of them goofy stories). I strive to give my fellow Yogis a safe and comfortable feeling in class so that we can all enjoy, smile, and look forward to coming back and doing it again and again.
