Kat Mcleans

Kat was born with severely twisted feet and to support the correction of this she was enrolled in ballet at a very young age. Dance was a huge part of her life until her teen years. Kat struggled with anxiety, depression, disordered eating and addictions from that point on and well into her adult life. It was yoga that eventually turned things around, and as Kat often says “Yoga saved my life.”

Kat took her first teacher training in India in 2011 and has continued to attend trainings regularly from then onwards. She has over 850 hours of training and holds certifications in Hatha, Astanga, Vinyasa, Yin, and Kids yoga. Kat’s unique experiences living in an ashram for a year in south India, and working alongside Buddhist monks in Cambodia for a year, have given her insight into the rich traditions of yoga, breath, and meditation. Her insatiable thirst for knowledge of movement within different demographics and abilities, has led her to emphatically state time and again that ‘Yoga is for EVERYBODY, and every BODY.”

Her classes combine exploration, intuition and a bit of play. Each class is an opportunity to leave behind judgment and expectation in order to connect with the inner wisdom of the body. She is passionate about mindfulness and is known for continually offering different ways to take yoga off the mat and into our daily lives.
