Inversions invite us to quite literally shift our perspective. When the body turns upside down, familiar patterns reorganize and we are asked to meet gravity, breath, and attention in new ways. This weekend intensive will explore the intelligence of inversions through a thoughtful and progressive approach that emphasizes stability, ease, and awareness.
Together we will examine the foundations that make inversions accessible and sustainable—shoulder stability, core integration, spinal organization, and the relationship between breath and effort. Through preparatory movements, skill-building drills, partner work, and supported inversion practice, participants will develop a deeper understanding of how the body organizes itself when the base of support changes.
Beyond the physical mechanics, inversions also offer a powerful opportunity to explore focus, patience, and trust. As we work with shapes such as headstand, forearm balance, handstand, and their variations, we will investigate how breath steadies the mind and how awareness of the center—core body and core self—creates both lightness and resilience.
This training weekend is designed for teachers and dedicated students who wish to deepen their understanding of inversions in a safe, intelligent, and sustainable way. Participants will leave with practical tools, progressions, and teaching insights that can be integrated into both personal practice and class sequencing.
Expect a balance of technique, philosophy, and embodied exploration as we turn our world upside down—finding steadiness, curiosity, and perhaps even a little play along the way.
