This progressive series is designed for Yoga Teacher Training Program participants while also being open to the public. Together, these workshops explore the relationship between anatomy, movement, and yoga practice, helping participants develop a deeper understanding of how the body is structured, how it functions, and how that knowledge can be applied both on and off the mat. Through a blend of anatomy, movement exploration, discussion, and practical application, participants will learn to see the body not as a collection of parts, but as an interconnected system designed to move, adapt, and support us throughout life.

YOGA ANATOMY 101: STRUCTURE & FOUNDATIONS

Friday, September 25, 2026 5:00–8:00 pm

A deeper understanding of movement begins with understanding the body's structure. In this foundational workshop, we'll explore the major anatomical systems that support movement, including bones, joints, muscles, fascia, and connective tissue. Participants will learn the language of anatomy, how the body is organized, and how these structures work together to create movement and stability. Whether you're a yoga teacher, teacher trainee, or dedicated practitioner, this workshop provides a practical framework for understanding the body and building greater confidence in your practice.

Topics Include:

  • Anatomical terminology and movement language

  • Bones, joints, fascia, and connective tissue

  • Understanding movement planes and joint actions

  • Building anatomical literacy for yoga practice

YOGA ANATOMY 102: FUNCTION, BREATH & MOVEMENT

Saturday, November 28, 2026 12:30–3:30 pm

Once we understand the body's structure, the next step is understanding how it moves. Building upon Anatomy 101, this workshop explores how muscles, joints, breath, and the nervous system work together to create movement. Participants will gain a deeper appreciation for the many ways people move and learn practical concepts that can be immediately applied in both teaching and personal practice.

Topics Include:

  • Muscle function and movement

  • The relationship between breath and movement

  • Nervous system influences on movement

  • Adaptation, variability, and compensation

Prerequisite: Yoga Anatomy 101

YOGA ANATOMY 103: INTEGRATION & APPLICATION

Saturday, February 13, 2027 8:30–11:30 am

Knowledge becomes meaningful when we know how to apply it. In this final workshop, we'll integrate the concepts from Anatomy 101 and 102 and apply them directly to yoga practice. Through posture analysis, movement observation, and practical examples, participants will explore how anatomical understanding can support more effective cueing, safer modifications, and more accessible yoga experiences. This workshop is designed to help bridge the gap between anatomical knowledge and real-world application.

Topics Include:

  • Posture and movement observation

  • Applying anatomy to yoga postures

  • Modifications and adaptations for different bodies

  • Anatomy-informed teaching and practice

Prerequisite: Yoga Anatomy 102
