Drawing from the Ashtanga Yoga system, this class will focus on breath and movement creating a flow of postures that enhance flexibility and strength. No two classes will be exactly the same but will include sun salutations and the opportunity to try more complex poses.

Gentle RESTORATIVE YOGA

Join us for a relaxing and nourishing class, for the body and mind. Explore healing and supportive poses that will benefit your nervous system, ease muscular tension and release physical stress. Restorative yoga is very relaxing and slow paced. Props, like blocks, bolsters, blankets and straps are used so that you are supported in your pose comfortably. All levels are welcome.

BEGINNER HATHA YOGA (KARMA CLASS)

Enjoy this beginner yoga drop-in class each Sunday morning that is provided by a variety of our new teachers who have recently graduated from our Teacher Training Program. Beginner Hatha is ideal for people who enjoy a soft and gentle approach to their practice. This class is free with a donation to the Food Bank (non-perishable items or cash). All levels are welcome!

 

CHAIR YOGA

A modified gentle yoga class using a chair and wall to provide support. We incorporate breath work, sitting, standing and walking to increase strength, balance and mobility.

A very good class for those recovering from injury and illness or those who have limited mobility (with doctors approval).

No yoga experience necessary.

GENTLE/BEGINNER YOGA

Whether you are new to yoga or are familiar with the practice, Gentle/Beginner yoga will help you develop balance, strength and flexibility without feeling overwhelmed or confused. In this class we will take our time to get into postures focusing on the basics. We will combine yoga postures and breathing exercises to strengthen the body, reduce stress and calm the mind. No yoga experience is required.

GUIDED MEDITATION

Experience a blend of both guided and silent meditation, visualization and the chance to reconnect to your whole being. Each session explores a different theme such as the breath, journey, movement, mantra, sleep and the chakras. Rebecca is a Lifestyle Meditation certified 200 hour instructor and this class series is LM inspired.

YIN/YANG YOGA & NIDRA

Take time to reconnect and feel grounded for the week to come in this rejuvenating class! Soak in a perfectly balanced practice with both active yang postures and relaxed yin postures. To complete this class, you will be guided through a 30 minute Yoga Nidra meditation which induces complete physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Students of all experience levels are welcome.

SUNRISE SHAPE YOUR BUDDHA

Join us for a yoga class that focuses on strength and functional movement! This class combines conditioning techniques and traditional yoga poses designed to strengthen the body. Leave this class feeling energized and balanced.

SUNRISE YOGA CHALLENGE

Start your day the right way - enjoy an early morning practice to get yourself ready for day. This 6:00am class draws from all styles of yoga to create a wonderful wake-up and get ready practice. All levels welcome!

YIN/RESTORATIVE YOGA

Give your body the opportunity to fully rejuvenate and repair itself in this relaxing yin yoga class combined with restorative poses. Holding poses for a longer period of time encourages the connective tissue to feel more elastic, providing you with an increase of range of motion and a feeling of space within. This is a practice which stretches and re-balances even the most stubborn tendons, ligaments and fascia in the body. There will be modifications made available to help guide you into the right posture for your body.

Features of this class: suitable for all levels/includes, gentle stretches during pregnancy/will offer modifications for injuries/only gentle inversions with props.

This class is beginner friendly!

YOGA, CHAKRAS & MEDITATION

This class is perfect for those who enjoy the physical benefits of yoga and are interested in exploring what else it has to offer. We will use the chakra system as a tool for self discovery both physically and mentally.

We will start each session with a hatha class designed to develop and strengthen the mind/body connection followed by a guided chakra imagery meditation. This offers a platform to look inward, identify and release stress, anxiety, depression or whatever is not serving you to make space for growth and the cultivation of a more positive outlook. Each class will be closed with some meditation time featuring singing bowls.

This class is accessible to all levels.

SLOW FLOW YOGA

Slow down! In this all-levels flow class you will experience calm and relaxation by engaging in opening and strengthening the body. By synchronizing your breath with fluid, focused yoga postures you will feel taller, stronger and more confident. Take time for yourself as you move your body and breathe with ease.

Join us to stretch, breathe, and play with your kids! Finding time for movement and breath can help your children (and you) build on these two great life skills! A combination of solo and partner postures that are safe and fun for the whole family. Come ready for anything!

IYENGAR YOGA

Sri B. K. S. Iyengar developed a style of yoga that is characterized in the practice of asana and pranayama with the innovative approach emphasizing precision and alignment, planned sequencing, timing, and the use of props, which helps the practitioner to achieve perfection in any asana. This approach has allowed people of varying ages, levels of health and fitness to enjoy the benefits of yoga, which a sustained practice can bring: the ability to face the physical, mental and emotional challenges of contemporary life with strength, vitality, mobility, thoughtfulness and equanimity. This intelligent practice develops our ability to grow and to separate what is worthwhile and productive from what to leave behind, and provides a framework to live in harmony with others, our environment and ourselves.

KUNDALINI

Kundalini yoga was brought to the west in 1969 by Yogi Bhajan. Kundalini yoga is yoga of awareness. It is a Science, which works on the seven chakras, the arcline and the aura. It involves postures, breath, movement, sound, mantra and meditation.

MYSORE

Mysore is a self guided practice with a teacher available to assist and provide adjustments.  This method will help build a strong  foundation for your personal practice.  We will get you started in the right direction and help build your knowledge and understanding of the essential sequences of the ashtanga method.  You can arrive at anytime from 5:30 am on.

A Led Ashtanga Practice, done in the traditional sankrit count.

TRAUMA INFORMED YOGA

Traumatic experiences can turn into stored patterns of physical and emotional pain, leading to a loss of connection to one’s body. Trauma informed yoga is a process designed to help individuals achieve healing by rediscovering a sense of peace and safety in their body.

A substantial amount of research supports the effectiveness of a regular yoga practice for decreasing the symptoms of trauma. Jeremy Bell, Registered Psychologist and Certified Yoga Instructor, will blend elements from both psychological and yogic practices to help participants develop their own personalized toolbox for self-healing.

Participants will be guided through a series of exercises designed to promote mindful exploration while emphasizing safety and choice. This class is opened to anyone interested in learning and experiencing trauma informed yoga. No previous yoga experience is required.
